Shannon Slyfield has been riding competitively for most of her life.  She began teaching when she was still in the United States Pony Club where she received it's highest rating, the coveted "A" rating.  She became a member of the United States Young Riders Team where she competed with the Area 8 team in eventing.

Shannon graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of Iowa and later received a teaching certificate from the University of Houston.

Before setting her sites on show jumping and the hunter ring, Shannon competed quite successfully in Three Day Eventing.  But she had always dreamed of competing at the Grand Prix level of show jumping and the highest levels of the hunter discipline. So, she left the eventing arena and turned her attention to hunters and jumpers. 

Shannon is now living her dream, competing  and winning at the "A" shows in Grand Prix and regular working hunters.

In addition to showing at the top levels, Shannon has a true passion for teaching and bringing her own students and their horses up the levels.  Her students and horses have won many championships in several states, including Texas, Louisiana, Arizona, Oklahoma and Mississippi.
