Called by legendary drummer Uncle John
"Red" Turner one of "the last of the original
Texas/Louisiana border bandits," Benny Valerio has been heating up
the stage with his own hot brand of hard core blues since the 60's when
he was a mere 14 years old. No lone wolf, Benny has played with the best
in the business, including Jimmy Reed, Lightnin' Hopkins, Mance
Lipscomb, John Mayall, Albert Collins and Uncle John Turner in his post
Johnny Winter band Rattlesnake, replacing a not-yet-fullgrown Stevie Ray
Vaughan on guitar. Using all of his many R&B, soul and rock
influences, Benny Valerio has created a vision of the blues which is
solely his own, one that grows out of the experience of a lifetime
Surrounded by the Blues. Benny Valerio lost his battle with liver cancer on January 11, 2006.
